Made a post today on where characters come from, at the author blog, and reproduced here under the cut for convenience. (I don't think I want to crosspost everything from there here, even if I could figure out how to make it happen automatically, but I'll try to link or copy where it's relevant. And I am editing away on TAF chapter one, pruning still more words and making what's left a tiny bit better.
