I really do have The Tempest coming out of my ears these days... enough to know that, iconic as the speech is and beautifully as Branagh delivered it, the meaning of the thing in context is WRONG. But hey, we're all Caliban-ish at times.
Anyway, it was a weird and beautiful Olympics opening ceremony, and I stayed up too late to watch it (turning the TV off just as "Hey Jude" began, because ouch, I hope it got better - though I loved the "And in the end" coda after the fireworks and hoopla, and think McCartney missed a wonderful opportunity to get "Her Majesty" in there afterwards), so all I can really say is "Corgis!" Also, I would carry a torch for Matt Smith anytime.
