Yes, the various anachronisms in Downton Abbey did get on my nerves a little - I think early on in the first season someone said 'I've let myself down', which made me wince.
And you should definitely make a post about the plot structure of Mirror Dance! Though it was Brothers in Arms which I remember reading with one eye on the structure and being deeply impressed at how tidily it all fit together.
