hedda62: cover of Time for Tea (time for tea)
With the caveat that much more is to come… Time for Tea is now available in ebook formats from Smashwords here.

It's in review at Kindle on Amazon, and should be available soonish if nothing goes wrong, and should also migrate out to online retailers from Smashwords. I'm waiting until tomorrow to update my website and make announcements, but I figured I'd let you all know that the process has begun. Hold off on any major pimping until I have more links to give you (but feel free to order your own downloads, just saying).

Print copies will take longer; I'm getting a proof copy from CreateSpace later this week (I hope) and need to look at it to make sure everything came out okay. Really, I'm not entirely sure it did, and if I have to make changes, that will delay availability further. So I'm not sure paper copies will be out in ample time for Christmas ordering.

I am a little dazed just now, and probably need to either dance around to "Paperback Writer" while baking sweet potatoes, or watch something with Ben Linus in it, but first I think lunch.

Paper copies Take Time. And even after you approve the files for sale, it takes a week to get to Amazon and six to eight weeks to get everywhere else. So, no, you won't be making Christmas sales, I'm afraid.

Not to sound bitter, but if it behaves like any other first self-published novel, it won't sell anything but a few copies to people you know personally, anyway. I've got five self-published books out there (four of them for some time now), and while the handful of strangers who have read them loved them, I can't seem to break the barrier to get even a few more sold. Marketing is a bugger. A big one.

Right, that's going straight to the top of my wishlist.

(Many congratulations on getting it out there!)
