Winter's Tale very much rewards reading, and LLL is at least an interesting study with some great moments (and a lot of vaguely familiar ones, see Much Ado About Nothing and Midsummer Night's Dream and I forget what else).
I like watching shows with a non-fannish person (my husband, also) because it grounds me. :)
